Shuma Raha, a founding member of SAWM India, has been a journalist for over two decades. A British Chevening Scholar, she was Associate Editor with The Telegraph newspaper and Senior Writer with The Times of India. Shuma writes on gender, media and culture. Currently an independent journalist, she is a columnist with Business Standard and writes for other print and digital publications as well.
Shuma started writing fiction a few years ago and won the Juggernaut Short Story Prize in 2017. Her debut book, The Love Song of Maya K and Other Stories, Was published in 2018. Shuma is also a literary translator and her English translation of Bonophul’s Bangla novel "Haate Bajaare" has been published by Sahitya Akademi.
