Smita Prakash is group editor of Asian News International. She has about 30 years experience in journalism having worked with several national and international news channels and publications. She has reported on India for NPR news USA, MNet South Africa, NHK Japan, Channel News Asia Singapore among others. She has covered national and international stories during the course of her career and anchored several news based programmes on ZEE TV, Business Plus, Doordarshan and news channels in the US, Canada and South Africa. One of the longest-running current affairs shows in the 1990s Ghoomta Aaina was anchored by Smita Prakash. The longest news and current affairs show on South African TV called - India This Week was also anchored by Smita Prakash. Currently, she is in charge of the news output from Asian News International which is the largest news agency in India providing video, photo and print news to channels, websites, newspapers in India and the world.
