Durba Ghosh is a Guwahati based Senior Journalist with the country's premier news agency Press Trust of India (PTI) where she has worked for the last 27 years.
She began her career in journalism at the Jharkhand capital Ranchi in 1991 which was then a part of undivided Bihar. She joined PTI at Kolkata the same year and worked there for six years. She also did a brief stint at the agency headquarters in New Delhi before moving to Guwahati in 1998.
She has covered the North East for more than two decades on varied issues ranging from insurgency, politics, development, environment, education, gender and children's issues, art and culture.
She has also edited three books so far and is associated with several socio-cultural organisations involved in promoting literacy, art and culture.
