About the speakers
Rozina Islam is an investigative journalist writing on health and human rights. She has received several prestigious international awards, including the Free Press Award (2021), and the ‘Anti-Corruption Champions Award’ (2022). She has faced arrest, and is fighting judicial harassment, for her journalism.
Swati Bhattacharjee writes on poverty alleviation and gender justice. A Fulbright-Nehru Fellow (2020) and a Jefferson Fellow (2006), Swati received the ‘Journalist of Courage and Impact’ Award from East West Centre, Hawaii, in 2018. Swati works for the Editorial Page of Ananda Bazar Patrika, Kolkata.
