About the speakers
Namgay Zam has worked for a number of major news organizations in Bhutan and internationally. She has hosted a number of talk shows and special events. Zam is an LGBTIQ ally and a mental health advocate. A prominent figure in the Bhutanese media landscape, Zam is a Humphrey Fellow and an Asia 21 Leader.
Patricia Mukhim is Editor, The Shillong Times. She is a former member of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) of India. Patricia is a gender activist and has written extensively on issues relating to India’s North East. She has received several media awards, and the Padmashree in 2000. She has authored a book.” Waiting for an equal world,” looking at gender relations in India’s Northeast.
